Tips for using SearchGateway:

  • Simple Search allows you to find a range of resources - in various formats - using one easy search field. Best matches are ranked at the top of your list
  • Use double quotation marks to search for the Title of a book, a journal, an eBook or an article (e.g. "Thin red line")
  • Use 'Refine My Results' to narrow by availability, topic, author, material type and date. You will find this on the left of your search results
  • Use Advanced Search when you know the item that you are searching for, i.e. when you know the title of a publication, author, subject, ISBN or ISSN. Advanced Search also allows for a combined search of these fields
  • A green dot indicates an item is available for loan, or to view online
  • If an item has 'Available at Canberra, Academy Library', it is available for loan. If the item has another library listed, staff and students can request this through intercampus loan
  • Sign in to myLibrary to personalise your results, save your favourite searches, manage your loans and subscribe to RSS feeds
